Day 2 Filming

Today we filmed the Performance elements for our music video

What we needed?

Drum kit

Location (hall)

Guitar

Hd camera

Handy cam

Getting the performance shot was one of the hardest task we faced in this project so far. We expected to use the drama studio originally as we felt that we could use a lot of the lightning in the room to maintain a synergistic indie music video approach (indie music video generally make use of a lot of spotlights). However unfortunately for us we were unable to accomplish this because we had to wait two hours for the drum kit to arrive as we weret allowed to use the drum kit in which we expected to burrow from the music department. Waiting 2 hours unfortunately meant that the drama studio could no longer be available to us. Fortunately we were able to use the boothroyd hall which worked perfectly in giving the impression of a small concert stage. Luckily for us we were able to make use of spotlights and even show our patriotic synergy!

Altogether I think that the performance recording went extremely well even though all the difficulties we faced. We were able to get some amazing shot amounting to 40 minutes in total. We’ve got a wide range of angles which will make our performance aspect versatile.

Also we used the Hd camera while working on the performance. Ultimately it was very interesting using the hd camera because we got to try new and interesting things such as:

Smooth camera movements

Defocusing and focusing

Better footages

Also we used the hd cameras for more free movements like following each members and also for more interesting shots.
